In November, the Pennsylvania-based outdoor apparel company Woolrich opened flagship locations in Milan in Italy, in Canada in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre and late last week in Dusseldorf in Germany. The new stores showcase the brand’s full collection of functional, comfortable and durable men’s and women’s sportswear and outerwear using innovative fabrications for the ultimate in performance capabilities along with well-designed home and outdoor living products and licensed accessory products. In December 2016, Woolrich, known as America’s oldest outdoor clothing company, announced the agreement to merge with Woolrich Europe, a licensee for Europe and Asia, to form Woolrich International. And with the merge, and a capital expenditure of about $50-million, the company reported plans to reach over 60 points of sale, five of which are to open by 2020. In addition to these latest openings, the company operates stand alone stores in New York City, Boston and in Woolrich in Pennsylvania. Earlier this year, the company retained Ashley Lebofsky and Jeffrey Berkowitz at Aurora Realty Consultants to handle the search in Canada, seeking units in the 2500 square foot range in the larger malls and high street locations in the major markets. Woolrich is also scheduled to open a new location in New York in the 2018/19 period.
