Since its introduction to the Canadian market in 2005 in Toronto, the Italian classic and casual footwear and apparel brand Geox has continued a steady growth, ending 2018 with 32 stores operating in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. Launched in Italy in 1995, Geox features a wide selection of lifestyle footwear for men, women and children ranging from classic styles through to comfort and casual shoes that incorporate an innovative waterproof and breathable technology. Based in Montebelluna in Northern Italy, the company counts over 1150 stand-alone stores in over 100 countries and based on the company’s business plan for 2019-2021, growth will continue in spite of an increasingly crowded and competitive environment. At the end of the company’s third quarter in late September 2018, there were about 39 stores in North America. In Canada, the Geox stores generally locate in malls, high streets and outlet projects in the major markets. The size required is in the 1200 to 1500 square foot range. Jeffrey Berkowitz at Aurora Realty Consultants is handling the chain’s site selection in Canada.
