Row House is a boutique fitness concept that was introduced in New York City in 2014 by husband and wife team Debra Strougo and Eric Von Frohlich. Designed around a low-impact, high-energy rowing workout, the program is designed for all shapes, sizes, abilities and fitness levels. A full-body workout, the 45-minute sessions build aerobic endurance and at the same time builds muscular strength. The units feature state-of-the-art Co0ncept II rowing equipment with instructor audio-video synching workout coordination. Acquired by Southern California-based Xponential Fitness in early 2018, there are now about three locations in operation in New York and California and Row House has introduced a franchise program. Already there are about 14 locations in eight more states under development and plans call for over 100 locations by 2022. Row House is now exploring growth opportunities in the Canadian market, in particular in the Annex, Yorkville, Forest Hill area of Toronto. The chain has retained Don Gregor at Aurora Realty Consultants Inc. to handle the search. Preferring an urban neighbourhood shopping area, the units will operate in 1800 to 2500 square foot locations with a minimum width of 30 feet and ceiling heights of at least nine feet.
