In November, a 9000 square foot Ricardo Boutique + Café will open in the Galeries de la Capitale in Quebec City. The unit will occupy part of the former Maison Simon location. The location will be the third retail and café unit by Ricardo Larrivee, known as Ricardo, a chef, an entrepreneur and Quebec television personality. With the success of first Ricardo Boutique + Café is in Saint-Lambert in Montreal’s South Shore, last November the company opened its second location in Centropolis in Laval. The large stores bring together the Ricardo lines under one roof, from kitchen accessories to the Art of the Table collections along with its gourmet products, etc. There is also the chocolates and sweets selection under the Ricardo banner and a selection of exclusive savoury gourmet products. In the café, with seating for about 80, guests can enjoy dishes inspired by recipes from the Ricardo magazine. The Ricardo Boutique + Cafe combination concept is designed for regional malls, lifestyle centres and urban neighbourhood streets. The units operate in 7000 to 8000 square feet. Currently the plans are to expand the Ricardo Boutique + Café concept in Quebec and Ottawa and Manon Parisien at Aurora Realty Consultants has been retained to handle the site search for the Canadian expansion.
