Fresh on the heels of its April opening of the 8000 square foot unit at CF Richmond Centre in Richmond in British Columbia, the Japanese casual apparel chain Uniqlo announces plans for locations that it has secured for Fall 2018 openings. Three new units are in the greater Toronto area and one is in greater Vancouver. The largest of the new Uniqlo stores to open in the Toronto area will be located at Vaughan Mills, with a sales floor of more than 20,000 square feet. And stores at CF Markville and Square One Shopping Centre will measure approximately 15,000 square feet each. These new stores will bring the total number of Uniqlo locations in Ontario to five. The newest and fourth store to open in British Columbia will be in the Coquitlam Centre in Coquitlam and will occupy more than 12,000 square feet. Featuring an innovative functional apparel and quality wardrobe staples for men, women and children, the stores will include the brand’s signature collections including AIRism, HEATTECH, Cashmere and Ultra Light Down, etc. The new stores will also offer its All-Product Recycling Initiative in which customers can drop off gently used Uniqlo clothing in bins for donation to those in need. Jeffrey Berkowitz at Aurora Realty Consultants Inc. has been retained to assist in the company’s Canadian expansion. The Uniqlo stores will operate in 15,000 to 40,000 square foot mall and high street locations. Uniqlo is a brand owned by Fast Retailing Co. Ltd., a Japanese holding company that designs, manufactures and sells clothing under several brands. The company has more than 2000 stores in 19 markets worldwide.
